DTW Architects served as the architectural consultant for the Master Plan of the Randleigh Environmental Education Center, developed over a year with input from numerous public and private stakeholders. Located beside the Neuse River, the Center is a cornerstone of the proposed Randleigh development and is dedicated to educating the public on all aspects of water in the environment.
The plan envisions a series of courtyards, each featuring a distinct water element, bordered on one side by exhibit spaces and on the other by meeting and educational areas. Water flows through the courtyards as both an interpretive feature and a guiding element, leading visitors to an overlook on the Neuse River. The design incorporates a range of sustainable strategies to achieve Platinum LEED certification.
