DTW Architects designed this 42,000 SF facility, home of Durham County General Services administrative and service sections, to take advantage of the sloping site. This design created a public image on the main entry side (administrative building: 17,000 SF) and tucked away support services on the lower level at the rear (25,000 SF).
The design emphatically features public art – colorful glazed glass panels – placed in the main artery and in the two large conference rooms. In addition to the offices and services bays, the project includes a 40-acre operations service yard, training rooms and lockers.
