DTW Architects designed this commercial development project, a 45,000 SF scheme that replaces several worn-out buildings and contributes to the revitalization of this Durham community. The project consists of a 2-story office building that hugs the curve of Chapel Hill and Kent Streets, a small cooperative grocery, and outdoor spaces. The office building has a sleek angled projection of windows that greets passersby, and employs glass, metal panels and brick to create a modern structure.
The development includes parking, landscaping and stormwater management. This project was developed as shell buildings, but DTW also worked with the grocery tenant to design that interior space, and the office tenants to design their spaces. The grocery opened in early 2015, and the entire project was completed in early 2016.
