DTW Architects designed several renovations of existing lecture halls in the Chemistry, Physics and Geology Departments of UNC-CH. The renovations included new seating and audio-visual systems, as well as new lighting, HVAC and fire alarm systems. In addition, the Venable Hall renovations included restoration of historic plaster ceilings and soffits.
DTW also designed the renovations of two existing fraternity buildings in the UNC-Chapel Hill Historic District. The Phi Delta Theta House renovations included all new finishes, HVAC, electrical, fire alarm and sprinkler systems. A late 1960s addition was upgraded with a pitched roof and French doors to be more sympathetic to the original architecture of the main building. The Delta Kappa Epsilon House renovations included the insertion of a new grand staircase that resembled the original one when the house was first built.
