DTW Architects designed this 98,000 SF elementary school project to initially accommodate 700 students with room for expansion. The distinctive exterior shapes of the building, exposed interior building systems and an interior play area adjacent to the cafeteria will serve as teaching elements for the elementary population. A sustainable design display board and large exterior sundial will also be integrated into the school’s curriculum.
Building components include administration, cafeteria, media center, academic and other classrooms, performing and visual arts rooms, and a gymnasium. Site improvements include parent and bus drop-off loops, vehicular circulation allowing car stacking, stormwater improvements, landscaping, athletic fields and building courtyards. This project has received USGBC LEED Gold Certification.
