A new headquarters for the Forest History Society was completed in December 2018. The non-profit organization is dedicated to collecting, preserving, and showcasing forest history. The 17,000 square-foot facility includes a resource library, archives, staff offices, exhibit areas, and support and multi-purpose event spaces. Landscaping elements included an outdoor plaza area and dispersed parking which preserved existing mature trees and ensured water runoff was kept to a minimum.

Wood products were featured throughout the facility which resulted in 380 metric tons of stored carbon within the wood.  Additionally, the low carbon footprint of utilizing wood compared with other conventional construction materials resulted in a net savings of 770 metric tons of carbon greenhouse emissions.  Other sustainable measures include a high seer VRF HVAC system, LED lighting, as well as daylighting and a tight building envelope.
