This building is oriented to maximize daylighting and over 90% of the instructional spaces have enough daylighting that lights are not usually necessary. The two entries required by current education standards (separate parent and bus drop-offs), are elegantly achieved by following the existing terrain: the main (parent drop-off) entry is situated on the lower level, and the bus drop-off on the upper. Setting the building into the site in this way also minimized site disturbance. Building components include administration, auditorium, cafeteria, media center, academic and other classrooms, performing and visual arts rooms, technology labs, and a gymnasium. Site improvements include drop-off loops, vehicular circulation allowing car stacking, stormwater improvements, landscaping, athletic fields and adjacent concession and restroom buildings.
